QA Automation Engineer (Java | Selenium | API | GenAI)

Job Summary

The QA Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions for web applications and APIs. The role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks, performing API and database testing, integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) technologies to improve testing efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks using Cucumber BDD and Gherkin.
• Develop and execute API automation using REST Assured.
• Perform database validation and data integrity testing using JDBC and SQL.
• Create and maintain functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end automation test suites.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to define test scenarios.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.
• Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Generate test reports, quality metrics, and automation dashboards.
• Utilize Generative AI tools for test case generation, test data creation, defect analysis, and automation optimization.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to quality engineering best practices.

Must Have Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java programming.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Strong experience in Cucumber BDD and Gherkin.
• Expertise in REST Assured for API automation testing.
• Experience with JDBC for database validation.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with TestNG and/or JUnit.
• Knowledge of Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Valuable to Have Skills

• Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) tools for test automation and quality engineering.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted test case generation and test data creation.
• Experience with AI-powered defect analysis and automation optimization.
• Exposure to Playwright, Appium, Cypress, or other automation frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-based testing environments.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• ISTQB certification is an added advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
