Lead Analyst - Private Markets (Investment Management) - 6-10 Years - Chennai

We are seeking a highly analytical finance professional to join our team as a Lead – Private Markets – Investment Management. The role will be responsible for supporting investment decisions, acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and portfolio monitoring through rigorous financial analysis, valuation, transaction due diligence, and financial modeling. The successful candidate will lead complex engagements, interact with senior stakeholders, and provide actionable insights to support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze historical financial statements, quality of earnings, working capital trends, cash flows, and debt profiles.
• Develop integrated forecasting models covering revenue, operating costs, capital expenditure, financing structures, and cash flows.
• Conduct detailed financial statement analysis, and perform profitability, liquidity, and leverage analysis.
• Develop business performance dashboards and KPI reporting frameworks and support in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis activities.
• Prepare due diligence reports and communicate findings to investment committees and senior management.
• Perform valuations of business or assets utilizing discount cash flow or the comparable company analysis.
• Prepare investment committee materials and executive presentations, capturing financial analysis and valuation insights.
• Coordinate with investment teams, lenders, legal & compliance department and other related stakeholders.
• Drive automation and process efficiency as integral part of service delivery.

Requirements

•

6–10 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, financial modelling, valuation, transaction advisory, due diligence, or investment management.

•

Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, cash flows, working capital, debt, profitability, and leverage.

•

Hands-on experience in building integrated financial models and conducting forecasting and scenario analysis.

•

Practical knowledge of DCF valuation, comparable company analysis, and business or asset valuation.

•

Experience in financial due diligence, quality of earnings analysis, and investment evaluation.

•

Ability to prepare investment committee materials, financial reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.

•

Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with automation and reporting tools is an advantage.

•

Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
