Key Account Manager – Customs & Logistics

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) to manage and grow key customer accounts in the Customs Clearance, Import & Export and Logistics domain. The role will be responsible for end-to-end customer management, operational coordination, SLA/KPI performance, business development and ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage key customer accounts and oversee end-to-end Import & Export Customs Clearance operations.
• Coordinate with customers, SCM teams, branch managers and internal operations teams for smooth shipment movement.
• Monitor shipment TAT, SLA, SOP and KPI performance and ensure timely achievement of service commitments.
• Prepare and analyse daily/weekly shipment status reports and delay analysis.
• Conduct regular MBR/QBR and customer performance review meetings and present KPI reports.
• Handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
• Support RFI/RFP/RFQ activities, customer onboarding and implementation of new accounts.
• Visit customer plant locations and corporate offices for relationship management and business development.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts by introducing additional products/services and expanding business.
• Coordinate with the Accounts team for billing, payment provisions and outstanding payment follow-up.
• Lead and coordinate internal teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Customs regulations, trade procedures and customer-specific SOPs.
• Support regional and Pan-India customer initiatives and business plans.

Requirements

Candidate Profile

• Graduate in any discipline; Logistics/Supply Chain/International Trade qualification will be an advantage.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Customs Clearance, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Key Account Management or Trade Compliance.
• Strong understanding of Import & Export Customs Clearance procedures.
• Experience in handling corporate/key accounts and customer review meetings.
• Strong customer relationship, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with a result-oriented approach.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, MIS and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple customers and coordinate with teams across locations.
• Willingness to travel Pan-India for customer meetings and business development.
