Jr Data Analyst

About The Role

We are looking for a passionate and driven Jr. Data Analyst to join our growing team at Heads Up For Tails. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting data analysis, reporting, dashboarding, data quality, and automation requirements.

As a Jr. Data Analyst, you will work with SQL, Power BI, Excel, and Python to extract, transform, analyze, and present data. This role suits a candidate with an IT background who can understand business requirements, work with large datasets, identify trends and gaps, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities/What You Will Do

• Data Analysis & SQL

Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from databases.

Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and opportunities.

Work with large datasets and ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports.

• Power BI & Reporting

Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business and operational reporting.

Create data models, measures, and visualizations in Power BI to present insights effectively.

Prepare recurring MIS and management reports with accuracy and within defined timelines.

• Data Quality & Excel

Perform data cleaning, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks using Excel, SQL, and Python.

Use Excel for data analysis, Pivot Tables, lookups, conditional logic, and reporting.

Investigate data discrepancies and work with relevant teams to identify and resolve issues.

• Python & Automation

Use Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation of repetitive tasks.

Support automation of manual reporting and data processes.

Maintain documentation for reports, dashboards, queries, and automated processes.

• Business Collaboration

Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting requirements and convert them into analytical solutions.

Qualifications & Skills/What You Need

IT background (M.Tech, B.Tech, BCA, MCA).

1–2 years of relevant experience.

Strong working knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI, and Excel.

Strong logical and analytical thinking.

Good problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and data accuracy.

Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
