Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Port Blair, responsible for overseeing all core HR functions for a self-employed business environment. This includes managing end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes, as well as maintaining accurate HR records and documentation. The role involves developing and implementing HR policies, handling performance management processes, and supporting training and development initiatives. The Human Resources Manager will address employee relations matters, ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, and support a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Day-to-day tasks also include managing attendance and leave, coordinating payroll inputs with relevant stakeholders, and providing guidance to leadership on HR best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management, with the ability to design and improve related processes.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and performance management frameworks.
  • Proficiency in employee relations, conflict resolution, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive work environment.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, and basic payroll and benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and adapt HR practices to a small, growing organization.
  • Relevant education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR certifications are an advantage.
  • Prior experience in an HR generalist or HR manager role, preferably in small business or start-up settings, is beneficial.
