Role Overview

We are looking for a people-focused, business-aligned, and growth-oriented HR Lead.

The HR Lead will work closely with business leaders, department heads, managers, and employees to strengthen recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, and overall HR practices.

This role requires a hands-on HR professional who can manage daily HR operations while acting as a trusted business partner. The ideal candidate should be able to build strong relationships, handle employee matters professionally, and support a positive, accountable, and high-performance workplace.

Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition and Workforce Planning

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned departments, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Partner with department heads to understand manpower requirements and define job roles and candidate requirements.
  • Prepare practical hiring plans based on business requirements.
  • Improve the overall candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Monitor recruitment turnaround time, quality of hire, and offer-to-joining conversion.
  • Maintain visibility and accurate updates on open positions and candidate interview stages.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate employee goal-setting and performance review cycles.
  • Manage probation reviews and confirmation processes.
  • Support performance improvement plans and employee development discussions.
  • Guide managers in providing clear and objective performance feedback.
  • Ensure performance conversations and decisions are properly documented.
  • Track employee performance trends and follow up on agreed actions with managers and employees.

Employee Engagement and Culture

  • Plan and execute employee engagement activities, recognition programmes, employee surveys, town halls, and team-building initiatives.
  • Collect and analyse employee feedback and participation data.
  • Recommend practical improvements to employee experience and retention.
  • Promote Backdropsource values through clear communication, inclusive practices, and consistent employee engagement.

HR Business Partnering and Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted HR point of contact for employees and managers across assigned business teams.
  • Support conflict resolution, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, attendance concerns, and policy interpretation.
  • Handle sensitive employee matters with fairness, maturity, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Coach managers on employee-related decisions, team effectiveness, employee morale, and change management.
  • Work closely with business leaders to translate business priorities into practical HR actions.

HR Operations

  • Support employee documentation, attendance, leave management, onboarding, confirmation, transfers, and exit processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, recruitment trackers, HR dashboards, and periodic reports.
  • Provide HR reports and hiring updates for leadership review.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, SOPs, and internal communication.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently followed across teams.
  • Coordinate statutory and organisational compliance requirements with payroll, finance, and external partners.
  • Participate in HR projects related to employee retention, learning and development, succession planning, and process improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 4-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Previous experience as an HR Executive, Senior HR Executive, HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, HR Lead, or People Operations professional.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, and employee relations.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, employee documentation, performance management processes, and applicable employment practices.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced organisation.
  • Experience in e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, creative, printing, or service-based organisations will be an advantage.
