GCP Cloud Engineer

Summary

We are seeking a GCP Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for designing and deploying

secure, scalable, and efficient big data applications on Google Cloud Platform. In addition to

cloud infrastructure automation, the role requires strong expertise in Big Data technologies and

data engineering workflows to support large-scale analytics and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate will ensure reliable operations, optimize data pipelines, and collaborate

effectively with clients and internal teams to deliver solutions that align with business objectives

and client needs.

Must Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (Compute

Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions).

• Expertise in Big Data technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and

Apache Spark/Hadoop.

• Experience in building and managing data pipelines for ETL/ELT workflows.
• Strong Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform,

Deployment Manager).

• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration.
• Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), networking, and

security best practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and data pipeline issues

quickly.

• Excellent client communication skills for requirement gathering, solution

presentation, and stakeholder management.

Good to Have Skills

• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Exposure to advanced data engineering workflows (streaming data with Pub/Sub,

real-time analytics).

• Experience with Python/Go/Java/Scala for automation, data processing, and

scripting.

• Google Cloud certifications (Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect,

Professional Data Engineer, Professional DevOps Engineer).

Roles and Responsibilities

Cloud Engineering & Administration

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Implement automation for provisioning and configuration management.
• Design and implement data pipelines using GCP services (Dataflow,

Dataproc, Pub/Sub).

• Manage and optimize BigQuery datasets for analytics and reporting.
• Work with large-scale structured and unstructured data for ETL/ELT

workflows.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to enable advanced analytics and

machine learning workloads

• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for application deployment.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of workloads.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
• Perform routine backups, disaster recovery planning, and patch management.
• Ensure code and data security across pipelines.
• Work closely with clients to understand business needs and translate them into

technical solutions.

• Present cloud and data strategies, migration plans, and performance reports.
• Act as a trusted advisor for cloud adoption, data modernization, and

optimization.
