About the Role

Styldod is an AI-first product company building customer-facing software across real estate, design, visual media, AI workflows, enterprise modules, and self-serve product experiences.

We are hiring an Associate Member of Technical Staff (L2) | Software Engineer, Product to build and ship reliable, scalable, and user-facing product features across the stack. This role is for someone who can take a defined product problem, understand the requirement, frame the approach, build the solution, test it properly, and carry it through release with light supervision.

This is not a narrow “ticket execution” role. At Styldod, engineers are expected to understand why the work matters, think through trade-offs, surface risks early, use AI-native development workflows responsibly, and ship production-ready work that customers can actually rely on. The PMS framework places strong emphasis on ownership, context, planning, speed with quality, production readiness, closure, cross-functional collaboration, and AI leverage.

What You’ll Do

Product Engineering

• Design, build, test, and ship customer-facing product features across web and, where applicable, mobile.
• Work across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, data flows, and async workflows.
• Convert product requirements into clear technical implementation plans.
• Build features that are reliable, maintainable, observable, and easy to iterate on.
• Own medium-sized features or modules from requirement understanding to rollout and post-launch validation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on larger architectural changes, migrations, and system-level improvements.

Frontend Development

• Build responsive, performant, and production-grade interfaces using React.js, Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend practices.
• Translate product and design requirements into clean, reusable, and maintainable UI components.
• Handle state management, API integration, loading states, error states, empty states, and edge cases thoughtfully.
• Ensure user flows work across devices, browsers, screen sizes, and real-world usage conditions.
• Pay attention to UX details, performance, accessibility basics, and product polish.

Backend & API Development

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js, Express.js, and related frameworks.
• Design and implement APIs that are clean, secure, well-structured, and easy to consume.
• Work with database systems for data modeling, querying, indexing, and performance-conscious implementation.
• Build and maintain async/event-driven workflows.
• Implement integrations with internal systems, third-party APIs, AI services, storage systems, billing systems, analytics, and operational tools where required.
• Think through reliability, idempotency, retries, failure handling, and data consistency in backend workflows.

Cloud, Reliability & Observability

• Work with cloud services used across the product and infrastructure.
• Help improve logging, metrics, alerts, dashboards, and operational visibility.
• Debug production issues with structured thinking and clear communication.
• Support deployments, rollbacks, release checks, and incident follow-ups.
• Build with production realities in mind: latency, scale, failure modes, security, cost, and maintainability.

AI-Native Engineering

• Use AI coding tools responsibly in day-to-day development for code generation, refactoring, debugging, documentation, test case creation, and code review support.
• Apply strong engineering judgment when using AI-generated code.
• Review, test, and understand code before shipping it.
• Use AI to increase speed and coverage, not to bypass technical thinking.
• Experiment with better development workflows and share useful learnings with the team.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product, design, QA, growth, and engineering to clarify requirements and ship better product outcomes.
• Communicate trade-offs early around time, scope, quality, technical debt, and dependencies.
• Surface blockers, risks, delays, or unclear requirements before they become release problems.
• Make your work visible through clear updates, documentation, PR descriptions, and release notes where needed.
• Keep handoffs clean so work moves smoothly across functions.

What We’re Looking For

Must Have

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production software.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in React.js, Next.js, Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Ability to build full-stack product features across frontend, backend, APIs, and data flows.
• Strong debugging skills across browser, API, backend, database, and production environments.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design basics, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to write clean, modular, readable, and maintainable code.
• Understanding of REST APIs, authentication basics, validation, error handling, and secure coding practices.
• Experience working with databases, preferably MongoDB.
• Ability to reason about edge cases, failure states, performance, and production behavior.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools in real development workflows.
• Strong ownership mindset, especially around timelines, risks, blockers, quality, and follow-through.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Flutter/Dart or willingness to contribute to mobile product work where needed.
• Experience with AWS services beyond basic deployment, including IAM, networking, storage, queues, monitoring, and serverless primitives.
• Familiarity with SQS, async consumers, queue retries, dead-letter queues, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong MongoDB data modeling, indexing, aggregation, and query optimization experience.
• Experience with production observability: logs, metrics, traces, alerts, dashboards, and incident debugging.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, deployment workflows, rollback strategies, and release management.
• Experience working on AI-powered products, image/video products, design tools, SaaS products, or high-traffic consumer products.
• Basic understanding of analytics/event tracking and how product usage data informs decisions.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and practical testing strategy.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where product, engineering, and business context evolve quickly.
• Mobile: Flutter, Dart, optional but valuable.
