Role Purpose

This role leads the accounts function and owns the financial health of the business. You will build the cost structure that tells us what each outfit and product truly costs, put the right systems and checks in place across accounts and related departments, and deliver complete financial planning so the company always has healthy profitability and cash in hand

Key Responsibilities

• Team and accounts leadership Lead, mentor and review the work of multiple accountants, setting clear roles, targets and timelines
• Own timely month end and year end closing, reconciliations and statutory compliance (GST, TDS, audit, income tax)
• Ensure books are accurate, complete and ready for management review at all times
• Costing and cost structure
• Structure the entire cost department and define the cost areas across materials, embroidery, craftsmanship, labour, production overheads and distribution
• Build a costing framework that calculates the true cost of each outfit and product line
• Track actual versus standard costs, analyse variances and recommend pricing and margin actions
• Work with design, production, procurement and sales teams to capture cost data at source

Systems, data and controls

• Streamline data collection across accounts and related departments such as production, inventory, retail and ecommerce
• Set up checks and balances: approval workflows, segregation of duties, reconciliations and audit trails
• Select, implement and improve accounting and ERP tools, and standardise formats, MIS and reporting
• Reduce manual work and errors so accounts run efficiently and reliably
• Financial planning and cash management
• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario plans for revenue, cost and profitability
• Plan and track cash collections, forecasted collections, payables and working capital Maintain a clear weekly and monthly view of cash in hand and upcoming commitments Deliver regular MIS and performance reviews with insights for the Principal and leadership team
• Flag risks early and recommend actions to protect profitability and liquidity

Qualifications and Experience

• Chartered Accountant, or CMA or MBA Finance with strong accounting depth 10 to 15 years of experience in accounts and finance, with at least 3 to 5 years leading a team
• Proven experience in cost accounting and product costing, ideally in fashion, apparel, textiles, luxury or manufacturing
• Hands on experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
• Working knowledge of Indian GST, TDS and statutory compliance
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and internal controls

• Strong command of Excel and financial modelling, with comfort in ERP and accounting software
