Detailed Job Description

As a Field Engineer supporting multi-city telecommunications deployments across Karnataka via Supreme Solutions, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of site integration, acceptance testing (AT), and field troubleshooting across Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, Tumkur, Gulbarga, and Bagalkot. Your day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and testing Nokia 7250 / 7210-SAS routers, DWDM 1830 PSS-8 optical transmission systems, and Cisco enterprise routing hardware. You will provision 10G/100G SFPs and QSFPs, handle complex fiber optic infrastructure, configure routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and IS-IS, and manage distribution and transmission network architectures. Furthermore, you will coordinate closely with clients and internal project managers, maintain accurate technical reports, and travel extensively across designated project sites within Karnataka.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, integrate, test, and commission Nokia 7250 and 7210-SAS routers, and DWDM 1830 PSS-8 optical transmission systems.
• Install and configure Cisco enterprise routing and switching equipment across customer and core sites.
• Provision and test high-speed 10G/100G SFPs, QSFPs, and manage end-to-end fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced routing and switching protocols including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and IS-IS.
• Execute rigorous network integration, acceptance testing (AT), and fault diagnostic troubleshooting procedures.
• Support distribution and transmission network expansions, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate effectively with client stakeholders, field teams, and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Undertake extensive travel across assigned locations in Karnataka (Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan, Tumkur, Gulbarga, Bagalkot).

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE preferred) or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 to 6 years of professional hands-on experience in telecommunications field engineering or network deployment.
• Proven practical expertise with Nokia 7250 / 7210-SAS routers and DWDM 1830 PSS-8 transmission platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of Cisco networking equipment, routing, and switching hardware.
• Hands-on experience with 10G/100G SFPs, QSFPs, and fiber optic testing/splicing principles.
• Expert configuration and troubleshooting skills in OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and IS-IS protocols.
• Excellent customer coordination, technical reporting, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Absolute willingness to travel extensively across designated project sites in Karnataka.
• Mandatory legal eligibility to work in India with local residency in Karnataka.

• Professional vendor certifications (e.g., Nokia Network Routing Specialist – NRS II, Cisco Certified Network Professional – CCNP).
• Prior experience in optical transport network (OTN) planning and DWDM ring protection architectures.
