What we are looking for

We're looking for a Engineer with 3+ years of experience to build, optimize, and scale intelligent web automation systems. In this role, you'll take ownership of existing automation workflows, improve their reliability and performance, and develop scalable solutions for extracting data from complex, dynamic web applications.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems, understands modern browser internals, and thrives in a fast-paced product environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build, and maintain web automation solutions across a wide range of web platforms.
• Enhance and optimize existing automation workflows using Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar browser automation frameworks.
• Build and maintain automation for authenticated web applications, ensuring reliable session management, secure authentication handling, and resilient long-running workflows.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex authentication flows, including token renewal, cookie expiration, session persistence, and browser networking issues to maximize automation reliability.
• Develop reusable, scalable automation frameworks that support rapid development and long-term maintainability.
• Implement advanced anti-bot evasion techniques, including CAPTCHA handling, proxy/IP rotation, browser fingerprint management, and session handling.
• Improve automation reliability by strengthening error handling, recovery mechanisms, and resilience against website changes.
• Optimize automation performance to increase execution speed and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to troubleshoot edge cases and continuously improve data acquisition capabilities.

Skills you need in order to succeed in this role.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in web automation, web scraping, or browser automation.
• Strong programming skills in Node.js and/or Python.
• Experience with Playwright, Puppeteer, Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP), or similar browser automation frameworks.
• Experience building automation for authenticated web applications, especially platforms handling sensitive or confidential customer data.
• Strong understanding of browser networking, including HTTP/HTTPS, request/response lifecycle, cookies, browser caching, localStorage, sessionStorage, JavaScript execution, and DOM manipulation.
• Strong understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and session-based authentication.
• Experience debugging browser automation using Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP), browser developer tools, network inspection, and request tracing.
• Strong understanding of browser fingerprinting, bot detection, CAPTCHAs, proxy management, rate limiting, and modern anti-automation techniques, with experience building resilient automation solutions.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain large automation codebases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on building production-grade solutions.
