Electrical 2D Draftsman

Role Description The Electrical 2D Draftsman is a full-time, remote role based in India. The person in this role prepares detailed 2D electrical drawings and layouts, including cable routing, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams for sustainable energy projects.

• Responsible for development of 2D drawing of various electrical systems for Solar Ground Mounted Projects / Utility Grade BESS/ Industrial facilities including but not limited to:
• Single line diagram,
• Electrical equipment layout
• Cable tray layouts
• Interconnection & hook-up drawing
• Lighting layouts
• Grounding and lightning protection layouts
• Responsible for creating Solar electrical drawings like panel layouts, power distribution drawings, grounding layouts etc.
• Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.
• Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering inputs, drafting and revising electrical plans, ensuring drawings comply with relevant standards, and maintaining drawing documentation.
• Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of experience of Electrical detail design deliverables using AutoCAD 2D

Proficiency in using AutoCAD

Experience in Solar Ground Mounted Projects / Utility Grade BESS is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering for preparing accurate and compliant electrical layouts.
• Solid understanding of Electricity principles to interpret load requirements and system configurations.
• Proficiency in Technical Drawing for creating clear and precise 2D schematics and diagrams.
• Experience in developing and revising Electrical Plans for projects involving battery storage, hydrogen fuel cells, or related systems.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) and industry drafting standards.
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI / NCTVT Electrical.
• Experience of exposure to 2D engineering tools like AutoCAD 2D
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, OneNote
