DevSecops Engineer

Role Description The DevSecOps Engineer role at SoftNice UG is an on-site position based in Antwerp. In this role, you integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with development, operations, and security teams to build and maintain secure, scalable systems. You will design and implement CI/CD pipelines with embedded security checks, automate infrastructure provisioning, and monitor applications and environments for vulnerabilities and compliance. Daily activities include reviewing code and architecture for security risks, managing security tools, supporting incident response, and continuously improving security standards and DevOps processes. You will also document best practices, share knowledge with colleagues, and contribute to a culture of security-first engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems concepts.
• Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or similar).
• Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and integration with databases and cloud services.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in secure, maintainable code.
• Experience with DevOps tooling (e.g., Git, CI/CD platforms, containerization, infrastructure as code) and security tools (e.g., SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners).
• Understanding of secure software development practices, threat modeling, and common security standards (e.g., OWASP, ISO 27001, or similar).
• Ability to work on-site in Antwerp, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or security-focused engineering roles is beneficial.
