DevOps Engineer – Azure AI / Platform Engineering

Experience: 6–10+ Years

Work Model: Hybrid – 12 Days Work From Office per Month

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud security, containers, and platform automation.

The candidate will work closely with Data Architects and AI/ML Engineers to build, secure, automate, and operate enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure supporting AI and data workloads.

Candidates with direct experience in Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry will be highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure Azure Landing Zones and network architecture for AI and data platforms.
• Configure and manage Private Endpoints, VNet integration, VNet peering, and secure Azure networking.
• Develop modular and reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Build and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.
• Automate deployment and release processes for Python-based microservices and data workloads.
• Implement enterprise-grade secrets management using Azure Key Vault.
• Configure RBAC, Managed Identities, and Zero Trust access controls across multiple environments.
• Provision and manage production container environments using Azure Container Apps and/or AKS.
• Support infrastructure for AI/ML and multi-agent workloads.
• Configure Azure API Management, Azure AI Search, Key Vault, and other Azure PaaS services using IaC.
• Establish monitoring, telemetry, centralized logging, alerting, and operational observability.
• Implement FinOps and cloud cost-control mechanisms, including budget guardrails, usage monitoring, and Azure OpenAI/API cost optimization.
• Partner with AI and Data Engineers to automate deployments, continuous evaluation triggers, and infrastructure hardening.
• Ensure infrastructure follows enterprise security, privacy, compliance, and PII protection requirements.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong expertise in Terraform and/or Bicep.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps.
• Experience provisioning and securing Azure PaaS services through IaC.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Azure Container Apps
• AKS / Kubernetes
• Azure API Management
• Azure AI Search
• Azure Key Vault
• Azure Networking
• Private Endpoints
• VNet Integration / Peering
• Strong understanding of Azure security, RBAC, Managed Identities, Zero Trust, and secrets governance.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Good hands-on knowledge of Azure CLI and automation scripting.
• Understanding of FinOps, cloud cost monitoring, budget controls, and API/token cost optimization.

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience supporting AI/ML platforms or multi-agent workloads.
• Experience working closely with AI/ML Engineers and Data Architects.
• Experience implementing private, secure, enterprise-grade AI/PaaS deployments.
• Knowledge of PII/data privacy and enterprise cloud compliance.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a senior Azure DevOps / Platform Engineer who can independently design and automate secure cloud infrastructure and collaborate effectively with AI/ML and Data Engineering teams.

Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry experience is a strong differentiator and will be prioritized during screening.
