Role Overview

We are looking for an Embedded C Developer / Diagnostic SSLE with strong experience in automotive diagnostics and embedded software development. The candidate will own diagnostic activities for Driveline Systems and ITBC (Integrated Trailer Braking Controls) across VIP and SDV programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Define diagnostic requirements, strategies, and diagnostic specifications for assigned product areas.
• Develop and maintain Diagnostic BTS (Basic/Boot Test Software) and diagnostic implementations.
• Own diagnostics for Driveline Systems and ITBC programs.
• Work closely with the Diagnostic Architect on diagnostic architecture, strategy, and implementation.
• Collaborate with software teams, suppliers, functional SSLEs, systems, calibration, and OBD teams.
• Ensure diagnostic implementations comply with GM diagnostic standards and requirements.
• Support diagnostic reviews, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Analyze and resolve diagnostic issues across embedded software and vehicle systems.
• Support diagnostic activities for both VIP and SDV programs.

Essential Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in C Programming.
• 4 6 years of experience in Embedded Software/Firmware Development.
• Strong knowledge of Automotive Diagnostics.
• Experience with Diagnostic SSLE / Diagnostic Engineer responsibilities.
• Experience with Driveline Systems and/or Integrated Trailer Braking Controls (ITBC) is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of GM diagnostic standards/processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including Software, Systems, Calibration, OBD, and suppliers.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience in VIP / SDV automotive programs.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostic protocols such as UDS, CAN/CAN FD, and DTC management.
