Job Description
POSITION: Deputy Manager- Finance and Accounts
Reports to (Position): Manager - Finance and Accounts
Position Purpose: The role involves managing financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance. Key tasks include finalizing financial statements, coordinating audits, ensuring compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations (including TDS and GST), and preparing management reports. The position also supports budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Finalization of Accounts Prepare and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and reconciliation of accounts.
- Audit & Compliance Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax auditors for timely completion of audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. Assist in implementation of audit recommendations.
- Direct Taxation Assist in computation and filing of income tax returns. Handle TDS compliance including deduction, payment, and filing of returns. Respond to notices and queries from tax authorities under supervision.
- Indirect Taxation Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns. Reconcile GST input credit and resolve mismatches. Assist in GST audits and departmental assessments. Stay updated with changes in GST laws and ensure compliance.
- MIS & Reporting Prepare financial reports and dashboards for management review. Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Assist in variance analysis and cost control initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, And Certifications
Qualified Chartered Accountant with 1/2 year of experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation laws, and audit procedures.
Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software.
Good analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Industry Experience
CA with 3-4 years of experience in Mutual Fund either as Statutory/Internal auditor or in Finance/Operations department
