About The Role

Role: Data Scientist - Data & AI

Location: Navi Mumbai (Head Office)

Department: IT - Strategy, Data & AI

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists, fostering a high-performance culture
• Develop and implement AI/ML strategies aligned with business goals

AI/ML & Generative AI Solutions

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models for underwriting, claims processing, fraud detection, customer service, and personalized marketing
• Explore and implement Generative AI techniques for product development, risk assessment, and customer engagement

Data & Governance

• Oversee data collection, preprocessing, and analysis to ensure quality and integrity
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards

Collaboration & Adoption

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Actuarial, IT) for seamless integration and adoption
• Drive transition of successful POCs into production
• Implement change management strategies to ensure stakeholder buy-in

Innovation & Research

• Lead innovative analytics solutions and Proof-of-Concept (POC) initiatives
• Stay updated on emerging AI/ML and Generative AI technologies
• Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate business impact

Performance Monitoring

• Establish monitoring frameworks and KPIs to measure model performance and business impact

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• Experience: Minimum 4 years in AI/ML, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or Java; experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
• Cloud Technologies: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
• Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of the insurance domain
• Project Management: Experience managing end-to-end AI/ML projects
• Communication: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Innovation Mindset: Proven track record in driving AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives
