Role Description The Data Engineer Intern (Remote) will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure in a full-time capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes, collaborating with senior engineers to optimize data models and warehouse structures, and helping ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability. The intern will work closely with product and analytics teams to prepare datasets for reporting and insights that inform platform features and user experience. Additional tasks may include documenting data workflows, troubleshooting data issues, and contributing to improvements in performance and scalability within a remote, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Foundational skills in Data Engineering and experience or coursework related to building and maintaining data pipelines.
• Understanding of Data Modeling concepts, including designing schemas and structuring data for analytics and reporting.
• Knowledge of Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and familiarity with tools or frameworks used to move and transform data.
• Basic exposure to Data Warehousing principles, such as star/snowflake schemas and storage optimization.
• Competence in Data Analytics, including querying data, generating reports, and interpreting insights.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala) and familiarity with SQL.
• Comfort working with cloud or database technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, or relational/NoSQL databases) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly in a remote setting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
