Company Description HackHalt Cyber Intelligence Council is a Section 8 organization dedicated to combating cybercrime worldwide and strengthening digital trust for individuals, businesses, and government entities. Role Description The Cybersecurity Intern will assist in monitoring, analyzing, and documenting security events across applications, networks, and information systems. Day-to-day responsibilities may include supporting vulnerability assessments, helping implement security best practices, and contributing to incident triage and basic threat analysis under the guidance of senior team members. The intern will also conduct research on emerging cyber threats, tools, and frameworks, and help prepare reports, documentation, and educational materials. This is an internship role designed to provide hands-on experience and mentorship in cybersecurity disciplines. This is a remote role, allowing the intern to collaborate virtually with global partners and internal teams.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge in Cybersecurity and general Cyber concepts, including common threat types, risk management, and security frameworks.
- Understanding of Network Security principles, such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network architectures.
- Basic familiarity with Application Security, including secure coding practices, common application vulnerabilities, and remediation approaches.
- Awareness of Information Security fundamentals, including data protection, access control, and compliance with security policies and standards.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Ability to learn quickly, analyze technical information, and communicate findings clearly in writing and verbally.
- Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment, with strong time management and self-organization skills.
- Familiarity with basic security tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners, packet analyzers, SIEM platforms) and operating systems such as Linux and Windows is an advantage.
- Interest in AI-driven security solutions and willingness to engage in research-oriented tasks is highly beneficial.
