Essential Skills

5+ years of IBM Cognos development experience with IBM OpenPages.
Excellent knowledge of Oracle, SQL and Cognos.
Strong communication skills.
Experience designing and developing Cognos Analytics dashboards and Active Reports.
Ability to apply Agile development practices to requirements gathering and product development.
Ability to validate data and visualizations against requirements and source data.
Experience designing data visualizations for non-technical users.
Strong SQL skills for selecting, summarizing and reporting data from structured databases.
Hands-on experience creating Cognos reports over the IBM OpenPages Data Model.
Experience working in an Agile framework.
Strong technical concepts to support the team in delivering technical design solutions.

Responsibilities

Work with customers to gather and refine user requirements.
Validate requirements and use Agile development practices to design and build solutions.
Test and verify that reports and dashboards meet requirements and support customer acceptance.
Build reports, dashboards and metrics using Cognos.
Develop and maintain data catalogues, data cubes, queries and reports.
Ensure Cognos products are consistently validated against source data and requirements throughout their lifecycle.
Work with Product Owners, Solution Architects and Platform Architects to identify required changes and create appropriate stories.
Identify options and develop logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
Optimize automation across design, development and operational processes.
Work with the Agile Lead to ensure efficient flow of the change backlog.
