Title: NSX & HCX Upgrade Engineer Location: Pune / Bengaluru Work Setup: Onsite Employment Type: 3 months Contract / Staff Augmentation About the Role You will join the Barclays SDN Operations team as part of a Broadcom-led group of 9 engineers, focused on upgrades and ongoing maintenance of VMware NSX and HCX platforms. This is a purely operational/upgrade-focused role, not a migration role. Responsibilities - Plan and execute upgrades and patches for VMware NSX in production and non-production environments, ensuring stability and minimal downtime - Perform VMware HCX upgrades (appliances, connectors, service meshes) including pre-checks, execution, and post-upgrade validation. - Carry out ongoing operational maintenance on NSX and HCX platforms, including configuration changes, health checks and remediation. - Collaborate with the Broadcom SDN engineering team and Barclays SDN Ops to schedule and execute change windows under formal change management. - Troubleshoot L2/L3 and security issues related to NSX and HCX components and coordinate with vendors as needed. - Produce clear technical documentation: runbooks, MOPs, implementation and rollback plans, and post-change reports. - Act as a Level 3 escalation point for NSX/HCX incidents and participate in problem management and RCA activities. Required Skills & Experience - 5–8 years of hands-on VMware infrastructure experience with strong exposure to NSX (NSX-T preferred). - Proven experience with NSX upgrades and lifecycle operations in large enterprise environments. - Hands-on experience in HCX platform upgrades; valuable understanding of HCX architecture and components. - Strong networking fundamentals: VLANs, VXLAN/Geneve, routing (BGP/OSPF), firewalls, and micro-segmentation. - Experience working in ITIL-based environments and regulated industries (e.G., banking or financial services). Nice to Have - Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation or similar private cloud platforms. - Scripting/automation skills
