What You Will Own

Financial Control & MIS

  • Own the monthly P&L — channel-wise (Ecommerce, D2C, Offline, Tender), cost-wise, and margin-wise
  • Build and maintain MIS that management can use to make decisions — not just read
  • Track CM1 and CM2 at channel and SKU level — flag deviations immediately, don't wait for month-end
  • Monitor working capital — DSO, DIO, DPO, cash conversion cycle — weekly
  • Maintain budget vs actuals across all cost heads
  • Own payment prioritisation — ensure the payment cycle runs on fixed schedules with no ad-hoc approvals
  • Validate every payment before it goes to management for final approval — checker role in the payment flow

GST, TDS & Direct Taxation

  • Own GST end-to-end — GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns (GSTR-9/9C) — workings, review, and filing
  • Own TDS — 24Q, 26Q, quarterly filings, reconciliation, and deposit scheduling
  • ITC reconciliation — GSTR-2B vs books — monthly, not just at audit time
  • Coordinate income tax matters with CA — data preparation, computation review, advance tax planning
  • Maintain zero-miss compliance calendar — GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC, PF, ESI

Books, Audit & Notices

  • Review and own books quality — ongoing spot checks on the accounts executive's entries, not just month-end
  • Own monthly books closure and annual finalization with CA
  • Own statutory and tax audit processes — coordinate with CA, manage timelines, sign off
  • Handle Show Cause Notices and departmental queries — draft responses, coordinate with CA and legal, maintain a live notice tracker
  • Maintain audit-readiness at all times — not a once-a-year exercise

Import, Trade & Procurement Finance

  • Validate landed cost for all imports — customs duty, IGST, freight, insurance — ensure procurement isn't working from wrong numbers
  • Coordinate import documentation — bills of entry, FIRC, customs compliance
  • Give financial sign-off on procurement orders above defined threshold
  • Track vendor outstanding and payment schedules

Payroll, Admin & Governance

  • Monthly payroll review before each payout — validate salary structures, PF/ESI deductions, accuracy
  • Identify and apply applicable government schemes — MSME, startup incentives, R&D benefits
  • ROC filings, DIR-3 KYC, board resolutions — own the statutory calendar
  • Support banking documentation — CA certificates, financials for bank requirements, OD/CC submissions

What Good Looks Like

  • Books are closed on time every month — management never has to ask where finalization stands
  • There is never a missed compliance deadline — not because someone reminded you, but because you own the calendar
  • When management asks 'are we making money on Flipkart?' — you have the number ready, not a request for more time
  • A GST notice arrives and within 48 hours you have the documents pulled, the exposure quantified, and a draft response in progress
  • Procurement doesn't commit to a purchase order without a finance sign-off — and that sign-off happens the same day

You Should Apply If

  • You have hands-on experience in both financial control (P&L, MIS, working capital) and compliance (GST, TDS, audit) — not one or the other
  • You've independently owned a set of books — reviewed entries, caught errors, closed months — not just supervised someone who did
  • You've handled at least one GST filing or notice situation independently — not handed it to a consultant and waited
  • You understand ecommerce or import-heavy business economics — COGS with customs and commissions, channel-level margins, CAC
  • You're comfortable being the only senior finance person in the room — no team to escalate to, just management above and juniors below
  • You work well under ambiguity — IZI is fast-moving and not every process is documented yet

Bonus If You Have

  • CA or CMA qualification — inter or final
  • Experience handling GST notices or departmental audits independently
  • Import and customs documentation experience — bills of entry, landed cost, FIRC
  • Worked in ecommerce, consumer electronics, trading, or import-heavy businesses
  • ERP implementation or migration experience

Non-Negotiables

  • Strong GST and TDS knowledge — filing level, not just awareness
  • Ability to review Tally/ERP books and identify errors — not just run reports
  • Advanced Excel — you will build MIS yourself
  • On-site in Bhopal, full-time — no remote or hybrid
  • Immediate or earliest possible joining
