Business Intelligence Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS for reinsurance data from multiple source systems.
• Develop Power BI dashboards on treaty and facultative performance, premiums, claims, loss ratios and bordereaux.
• Design star/snowflake data models, and write and optimise complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures.
• Optimise Power BI datasets using DAX and Power Query, including row-level security and incremental refresh.
• Gather requirements from underwriting, actuarial, claims and finance teams, ensure data quality, and mentor juniors.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5-9 years of experience in BI development and data engineering, with a Bachelors degree in CS, IT or Engineering.
• Strong hands-on Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service) and advanced SQL with performance tuning.
• Solid data modelling (data warehouse and data mart) and ETL/ELT experience, with working knowledge of AWS (S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda).
• Insurance or reinsurance domain knowledge (treaty/facultative, premiums, claims, bordereaux).
• Good to have: Python/PySpark, Airflow, Git CI/CD, Snowflake/dbt, and Power BI or AWS certification.
