Bench Digital & Mixed-Signal Validation Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Bench Digital & Mixed-Signal Validation Engineer to support silicon validation, characterization, and board-level verification for semiconductor products. The role involves first silicon bring-up, bench validation, hardware debugging, interface validation, and laboratory automation using industry-standard test equipment. The engineer will work closely with Design, Product Engineering, Embedded Software, PCB Design, and Manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and debug bench validation setups for Digital and Mixed-Signal semiconductor devices.
  • Perform first silicon bring-up, board bring-up, engineering validation, and silicon characterization.
  • Design and validate evaluation boards, interface boards, adapter boards, interposers, and custom validation fixtures.
  • Review schematics and PCB layouts while performing power sequencing and board-level debugging.
  • Validate communication interfaces including I C, SPI, UART, GPIO, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SD/eMMC, MIPI, CAN, LIN, and JTAG.
  • Develop automated validation frameworks for instrument control, data acquisition, regression testing, and report generation.
  • Execute electrical validation, functional validation, stress testing, interoperability testing, and regression testing.
  • Analyze waveforms, timing diagrams, protocol transactions, and register-level behavior using laboratory instruments.
  • Debug hardware, firmware, software, silicon, and system-level issues through structured root cause analysis.
  • Develop validation procedures, test plans, characterization reports, and engineering documentation.
  • Support Engineering Validation (EV), New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Qualification, Reliability, and Customer Validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Firmware, Embedded Software, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE), Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3 -10 years of experience in semiconductor bench validation, silicon characterization, laboratory validation, or product validation engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor validation hardware and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of digital electronics, mixed-signal systems, board-level debugging, and validation methodologies.
