Backend Developer – Node.js

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer experienced in Node.js, MongoDB and Redis to develop scalable APIs, manage real-time IoT data, optimise large datasets and support production infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using Node.js/Express.
• Implement authentication, access control, rate limiting and API usage tracking.
• Design and optimise MongoDB aggregation pipelines, indexes and queries for large datasets.
• Build real-time IoT data ingestion using MQTT/Mosquitto.
• Use Redis for caching, rate limiting and usage tracking.
• Manage Ubuntu servers, Nginx, SSL/TLS, Certbot and systemd services.
• Develop cron-based data processing, aggregation and anomaly-detection jobs.
• Integrate Razorpay subscriptions, webhooks and B2B billing.
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs, explain() and other debugging tools.
• Work with Git and follow collaborative development practices.

Required Skills

• 2+ years backend development experience.
• Strong Node.js/Express and REST API knowledge.
• Strong MongoDB experience, including aggregation, indexing and query optimisation.
• Experience with Redis.
• Knowledge of MQTT/IoT systems.
• Hands-on Linux/Ubuntu server administration.
• Working knowledge of Nginx, TLS/Certbot and systemd.
• Understanding of API security and authentication.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT, environmental or sensor data platforms.
• Razorpay/payment gateway experience.
• AWS, OCI or other cloud infrastructure experience.
• Experience with ESP32, Mosquitto or geospatial data.
