Work Location: Machoahhly, Magadi road, Bengaluru, Karnataka
Travel: Frequent travel across Karnataka is mandatory
Job Summary
Mecwin Technologies is looking for an experienced Automation Project Manager – SCADA & PLC to independently handle the design, estimation, approval and execution of automation projects for water-related infrastructure.
The candidate must be capable of visiting project sites, understanding customer requirements, preparing complete SCADA and PLC system designs, developing project cost estimates, preparing DPRs for government approvals and executing projects successfully at site.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants, RO plants, pumping stations and water distribution facilities across Karnataka.
- Conduct site surveys and understand the existing electrical, instrumentation, automation and communication systems.
- Collect technical data and prepare detailed project requirements.
- Design complete PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation and automation architecture.
- Prepare control philosophy, process flow diagrams, I/O lists, system architecture and communication layouts.
- Select suitable PLCs, SCADA software, HMIs, sensors, instruments, VFDs, control panels and networking equipment.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials, quantity estimates, project costing and commercial estimates.
- Prepare Detailed Project Reports for submission to government departments, municipal bodies, water boards and other authorities.
- Support technical presentations, project approvals, tender submissions and discussions with government officials and consultants.
- Prepare technical specifications, scope of work, compliance statements and tender documentation.
- Plan and execute complete automation projects from design to commissioning.
- Coordinate with customers, consultants, civil contractors, electrical contractors, panel builders and equipment suppliers.
- Closely monitor site installation, cabling, panel erection, instrumentation, PLC programming and SCADA integration.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, system validation and final commissioning.
- Monitor project schedules, costs, quality and customer deliverables.
- Resolve technical and site-related issues without delay.
- Prepare project progress reports, documentation, operating manuals and handover documents.
- Build and manage an internal automation project team as the number of projects increases.
- Train engineers and technicians for programming, installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
Technical Knowledge Required
- PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- SCADA system development and monitoring.
- HMI screen development.
- Control panel and automation system design.
- Water treatment, STP, RO and pumping system automation.
- Instrumentation including flow, level, pressure, temperature, pH, turbidity, conductivity and water-quality monitoring.
- VFDs, motor control centres, pumps, valves and actuators.
- Remote monitoring and data acquisition systems.
- Communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and OPC.
- Preparation of I/O lists, control philosophy, cable schedules and system architecture.
- Government tender specifications, DPR preparation, estimation and costing.
- Site execution, testing and commissioning.
Candidate Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in SCADA, PLC and industrial automation projects.
- Engineering qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in water treatment plants, STPs, RO plants, pumping stations or water distribution projects is preferred.
- Must be capable of handling complete projects independently.
- Must have experience in project design, estimation, costing and DPR preparation.
- Experience working with government departments, consultants or public infrastructure projects will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work at project sites across Karnataka.
- Strong project management, communication and customer-handling skills.
