What you'll work on The work spans the full lifecycle of how code gets from a developer's laptop into production, and you'd touch most of it in some form. Provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure, mostly through infrastructure-as-code rather than manual console clicks once you're past the first few weeks. Automating deployment pipelines, taking a manual release process and turning pieces of it into something that runs on a trigger instead. Candidates typically come from computer science or a similarly technical stream, though we've taken on interns whose degree was in something less obviously related when their independent project work made the case for them. Final-year students are welcome to apply as long as the internship schedule fits around remaining coursework or exams. Skills you should already have CI/CD pipelines. Basic understanding of build, test, and deploy stages, even from a personal project or coursework. Docker. Comfortable writing a Dockerfile and running containers locally. Kubernetes. Conceptual familiarity is enough at this stage. Knowing what a pod, deployment, and service are before day one saves a lot of ramp-up time. AWS or Azure. Hands-on exposure to either, even limited to the free tier. Scripting. Bash or Python well enough to automate a repetitive task without help. Git. Branching, merging, and resolving conflicts confidently. Anything beyond that is a bonus, not a requirement: Terraform experience, exposure to Prometheus or Grafana, or a completed cloud certification like AWS Cloud Practitioner.
