Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for assisting Finance Manager for day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, accounts reconciliations, and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain financial integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Assist in managing general ledger accounting and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.
• Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights into variances and trends.

Reconciliations & Controls

• Review Balance Sheet Reconciliations on monthly basis to ensure balances are correctly carried out in financial statements
• Review bank reconciliations and ensure proper control over bank reconciliation.
• Ensure accuracy of fixed asset accounting and depreciation calculations.

Budgeting & Business Support

• Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist in cost analysis, cost center reviews, and budget variance reporting.
• Assist in providing financial information and analysis to business stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Controls

• Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Identify automation opportunities in financial reporting and related activities.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for processes.

Qualifications

Education

• CA / CPA preferred
• CA Inter / CMA (US) / B Com. may be considered with relevant experience.

Experience

• 6 to 7 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting in a multinational environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and US GAAP, including experience preparing or reviewing financial statements under multiple reporting frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in GL reconciliations and month-close activities.

Technical Skills
