Role Description The Assistant Fashion Designer will support the design team across the entire creation process, from initial concept to final garment. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with sketching and developing design ideas, sourcing and coordinating textiles and trims, and supporting the creation of embroidery and surface design details. The role involves organizing samples, participating in fittings, documenting fit comments, and coordinating with the production team to ensure accurate execution of designs. The Assistant Fashion Designer will also help maintain mood boards, design archives, and style sheets, while collaborating closely with pattern makers and artisans. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including an eye for silhouettes, colors, and detailing.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Textiles, including fabric types, properties, and appropriate usage in garments.
• Candidates should possess skills in Embroidery and surface ornamentation, with the ability to develop and refine design layouts.
• Candidates should possess experience with garment Fitting, including reviewing samples, noting fit issues, and communicating adjustments.
• Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Fashion Design or a related field, and proficiency with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator or similar) are beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment, and effective communication and collaboration skills are beneficial.
