About Coinsell

Coinsell Technology Private Limited operates a regulated virtual digital asset platform in India. We are a reporting entity under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) and are progressing FIU-IND VDASP registration. Compliance is core to the business, not a side function.

Location: Based in Delhi (or NCR), with in-person FIU-IND visits as required.

Role summary

Coinsell's compliance stack is AI-assisted and highly automated. People in these roles are the human in the loop: they review edge cases, approve escalations, and own decisions the models and rules cannot.

Own Coinsell's AML/CFT/CPF program day to day. This seat is the company's Principal Officer under the PMLA / PML Rules and FIU-IND VDASP guidelines: management-level, full-time, exclusive to Coinsell, with authority to act independently and to deal with FIU-IND and law enforcement.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Principal Officer for FIU-IND: STR/CTR and other prescribed reporting, responses to FIU/LEA requests, and in-person meetings in Delhi as required
• Design, implement, and improve CDD/KYC, ongoing monitoring, record-keeping, and internal AML controls for VDA products and services
• Lead ML/TF risk assessment for products, customers, geographies, and delivery channels; escalate to Board / high-level committees
• Build and manage the Compliance team (analysts/officers); train staff on AML obligations
• Maintain policies, playbooks, and audit-ready evidence for FIU registration and ongoing supervision
• Coordinate with legal counsel, CERT-In / cyber audit vendors, and product/engineering on compliance requirements
• Report regularly to the Board (preferably quarterly) on AML/CFT status and gaps

Requirements

Required experience and qualifications

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in AML/CFT/CPF, PMLA/PML Rules, or equivalent regulated-financial compliance (bank, NBFC, payment, fintech, or VDA preferred)
• Management-level seniority and judgment; able to push back on business pressure
• Strong working knowledge of KYC/CDD, transaction monitoring, STR filing, and FIU-IND expectations for VDA reporting entities
• Based in Delhi (or NCR), and willing and able to attend FIU-IND in-person meetings in Delhi as required
• Full-time exclusive engagement with Coinsell only (no side employment)
• Clear written and spoken English; comfort with regulators and counsel

Nice to have

• Prior FIU-IND or other financial-intelligence / regulator liaison
• VDA / crypto exchange compliance experience
• Certifications (CAMS, ICAI/ICSI/ICMAI practice background, or equivalent)
• Experience building a first compliance function in a startup
