AI / ML & Data Science Engineer - Chennai (India)

Job Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically skilled AI/ML & Data Science Engineer to develop data-driven solutions using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science techniques.

Skills Required

SQL and RDBMS Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, query optimization, and data modelling. Robust understanding of relational database concepts, normalisation, and working with RDBMS platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.

Cloud Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with one or more cloud data warehouses — BigQuery, Snowflake, or Amazon Redshift — including schema design, performance tuning, and cost management.

AI / ML / Data Science (Preferred): Familiarity with machine learning workflows, feature engineering, and supporting AI/ML pipelines is highly preferred. Experience working alongside Data Scientists or contributing to ML model deployment pipelines is a strong advantage.

Dbt (Data Build Tool) — Primary Skill: Strong, practical expertise in dbt for building transformation layers, writing Jinja-templated SQL models, implementing tests, generating documentation, and managing dbt projects end-to-end. Experience with dbt Cloud or dbt Core is essential.

Data Pipeline and Orchestration: Experience building and orchestrating data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or cloud-native schedulers. Familiarity with ELT/ETL patterns and tools like Fivetran, Airbyte, or Stitch is a plus.

Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks including data manipulation, pipeline scripting, and automation. Experience with Pandas, PySpark, or similar libraries is advantageous. Data Analytics and Visualisation: Ability to build analytics-ready datasets and collaborate on dashboards using visualisation tools such as Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.

Communication and Collaboration: Ability to translate complex data engineering concepts and pipeline architectures into clear documentation and stakeholder-friendly explanations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education Requirements Qualifications: A postgraduate degree in Data Science / Data Engineering / Computer Science / Information Technology, or a BE / ME / MCA with a specialization in Data Engineering / AI / ML / Data Science. Relevant certifications from recognized cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) or dbt certifications are an added advantage.

Pay: ₹240,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
