AI Development Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Development Lead to guide the engineering team that builds our AI

powered products and client solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can design AI systems, write and review core code, and help a team deliver with quality and speed.

The successful candidate will own the technical direction of what we ship, from LLM applications, AI

agents and document intelligence to full web platforms and integrations, while working closely with

clients, founders and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of developers and MLOps engineers.
• Set coding standards, run code reviews and drive engineering best practices. •

Own architecture decisions and keep technical quality high across projects.

AI Solution Design & Development

• Design and build LLM applications, RAG systems, AI agents and document intelligence solutions. •

Build and review core components: LLM integrations, prompt and agent design, APIs and back end

services.

• Choose models and tools (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models), weighing quality, cost,

latency and data privacy.

• Set up evaluation for AI features so quality is measured, not guessed.
• Oversee integrations with third-party systems such as payments, WhatsApp, Zoho and client

platforms.

Client & Delivery Collaboration

• Turn client problems from discovery and AI Design Thinking workshops into technical solutions,

estimates and scope.

• Join client calls as the technical voice and explain trade-offs clearly to non-technical

stakeholders.

• Work with the Senior Project Manager on timelines, risks and delivery.
• Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript, with solid back-end and API design.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, function calling and agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex or similar).
• Experience with vector databases, relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). •

Strong grasp of system design, security and data privacy.

• Proven experience leading a team of developers.
• Excellent communication and comfort working directly with clients.

Nice-to-Have

• Background in consulting or agency delivery across multiple clients.
• Experience with OCR, document AI or multimodal models.
• Experience shipping SaaS products with subscriptions and multi-tenant setups. •

Exposure to travel tech, retail, PR or staffing domains.

• Familiarity with MLOps practices (CI/CD for models, monitoring, LLM observability).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical

experience).

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years building LLM or ML

products that went live.

• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Strong portfolio of shipped AI products or platforms.
