Role Description The Accountant Nigeria role at ICC Contractors is a full-time, on-site position based in Uttar Pradesh, India. The individual in this role will handle daily accounting activities, including recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining accurate ledgers for Nigerian operations. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, reconciling bank accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The role also involves supporting audits, monitoring project costs, preparing financial reports for management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide timely financial insights. The Accountant is expected to maintain confidentiality, uphold ethical standards, and contribute to efficient financial processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in general accounting principles, financial reporting, and ledger management.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, ideally within construction or project-based environments.
- Understanding of applicable financial regulations and compliance requirements related to multinational operations.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site with diverse teams and maintain a professional, inclusive work style.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
- Prior experience in construction, infrastructure, or related industries is highly desirable.
