WordPress & SEO Engineer

About the Role

FreJun is hiring a WordPress & SEO Engineer to build scalable SEO systems, optimize technical SEO infrastructure, and develop high-performing programmatic landing page systems.

This role combines WordPress development, technical SEO, and programmatic SEO execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins
• Improve Core Web Vitals and website performance
• Fix crawl, render, and indexation issues
• Implement structured data and technical SEO improvements
• Build scalable programmatic SEO page systems
• Create internal linking and content templating systems
• Work with SEO, content, and design teams on growth initiatives

Requirements

• Strong experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Hands-on technical SEO experience
• Experience with Core Web Vitals optimization
• Familiarity with Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, GA4, and Search Console
• Experience with programmatic SEO and large-scale landing pages
• Familiarity with Git, APIs, and deployment workflows

Preferred Skills

• Experience with React, Next.js, WPGraphQL, or headless WordPress
• Familiarity with Python or Node.js
• Experience with AI search optimization (AEO/GEO)
