Urgent Hiring : Cyber Security Analyst (Fresher)

About the Role

Probus is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Cyber Security Fresher to join the Information Security team, reporting to the CISO. The candidate will support day-to-day security monitoring across Probus's AWS cloud environment and on-premises infrastructure, assist with vulnerability and compliance tracking, and help maintain the documentation and evidence trail required for regulatory audits (including IRDAI cyber security requirements).

Location: Mumbai Andheri (E) (Work from office)

Reporting To: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Experience: 0-1 Year

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT), BCA, MCA, B.Sc./M.Sc. IT, or related field

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and dashboards across AWS (Guard Duty, WAF, Shield, CloudWatch) and on premises tools (SonicWall firewall logs, Seqrite Endpoint Protection).
• Assist in identifying, triaging, and escalating cyber threats and suspicious activity to the CISO /Infrastructure team.
• Support vulnerability assessments and coordinate with external VAPT vendors on scheduling, findings intake, and remediation tracking.
• Review system, network, and access logs (Active Directory, firewall, email security) to investigate anomalies.
• Help maintain security policy documents, evidence packs, and trackers required for regulatory audits (e.g., IRDAI cyber security audit).
• Assist in implementing and documenting security controls and best practices across endpoint, network, and application layers.
• Document security incidents, prepare status reports, and maintain incident/remediation logs.
• Stay current on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security frameworks relevant to the insurance/financial sector.
• Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve security-related issues and close audit action items.

Key Requirements

• Basic understanding of cyber security concepts and common threats (malware, phishing, ransomware, social engineering).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN) and basic firewall concepts.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Basic awareness of Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) concepts hands-on pentesting not required; role is coordination and tracking, not execution.
• Basic awareness of cloud security concepts (AWS preferred) and common frameworks/standards (ISO 27001, IRDAI guidelines, or similar).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written communication and documentation abilities this role involves regular report and policy document work.
• Willingness to work from the Andheri (E) office and adapt to monitoring/coverage needs as required.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to AWS console or basic cloud security tools (even via coursework/personal projects).
• Any certification or coursework in Security+, CEH, or equivalent (not mandatory for freshers).
