Job Description

  • Skills - C/C++, Unix, Shell Scripting, PlSQL Development.
  •  Provide advice and guidance within the area of Solaris/Linux as required both internally and to the customer (including training/mentoring staff)
  • Manage the current Linux environment, while planning for the future needs of the dynamic environment running multiple custom-built client web and traditional packaged applications
  • Experience with Oracle/Sun hardware, Solaris OS and virtualization
  • This position will work with the existing UNIX team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support servers for a mixed customer environment
  • Plays a key role as the technical implementer for projects
  • Functions as a technical expert in the debugging of customer implementations
  • Continuously improving
  • Participate in new technology reviews like Hadoop, clustering technologies, Openstack, and CM systems
  • Provide daily support and troubleshooting for test and production hardware, software, and operations issues
  • Deploy of automated processes to regain efficiencies


Job Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve UNIX hardware and software issues
  • Automate tasks through shell scripting
  • Day to day maintenance and support of Core Infrastructure technologies including NIS/DNS/Jumpstart/Licensing the development and implementation of lifecycle strategy
  • General knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, CFEngine, Firewall and storage
  • Knowledge on working LDAP servers
  • Performance and capacity management of Solaris/Reality infrastructure
  • Modify the server equipment configuration according to the implementation plan specifications
  • Provide proactive network management with deployment & use of management tools
  • Participate in mandatory meeting and training sessions


Qualifications for UNIX

  • Implement and maintain DNS and LDAP Servers
  • Good knowledge of source control solutions
  • Experience with debugging applications (GDB )
  • Ability to write robust, maintainable object orientated applications in Perl
  • Native file/directory access controls
  • Client/server-type network programming
