UI/UX Designer

Unico Connect is seeking a UI/UX Designer to craft production-ready interfaces for client web and mobile products. The role spans wireframing, high-fidelity design in Figma, contributing to client design systems, and partnering closely with engineering on dev-mode handoff. The position is well suited to early-career designers with strong fundamentals in layout, typography, and interaction design, and a willingness to grow craft within a senior design team.

Responsibilities

• Design responsive web and mobile interfaces in Figma including wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes
• Contribute to and extend client design systems with reusable components, tokens, and patterns
• Run early-stage user research such as usability tests, customer interviews, and competitor audits
• Iterate on designs based on Product Manager and engineering feedback; ship designs that survive production
• Maintain Figma file hygiene including variables, auto-layout, components, properties, and dev-ready specs
• Partner with frontend engineers on handoff, dev-mode specs, and post-build visual quality assurance
• Build and maintain a portfolio of explorations, motion studies, and design system improvements
• Participate in weekly design critiques and quarterly portfolio reviews
• Track design metrics including time to handoff and post-launch usability findings
• Document design decisions, accessibility considerations, and component API choices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field; portfolio acceptable in lieu
• 1-3 years of UI/UX design experience on SaaS, mobile, or web products
• Strong portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, colour, and interaction design fundamentals
• Fluent in Figma including components, variables, auto-layout, and interactive prototyping
• Working understanding of HTML and CSS and how designs translate into production code
• Comfortable presenting design rationale to clients and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrated capacity to incorporate user research findings into design iterations
• Familiarity with responsive design and mobile interaction patterns
• Strong attention to detail with respect to spacing, alignment, and typography
• Excellent written and verbal English communication
