Job Description & Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

  • Serve as a Tier-3 technical escalation point for critical production incidents across global customer environments, ensuring rapid root-cause analysis (RCA) and resolution within strict SLAs.
  • Architect, implement, and enforce enterprise-grade governance standards using AWS Organizations, Control Tower, custom SCPs, and automated resource tagging to ensure compliance and cost tracking.
  • Lead end-to-end AWS Well-Architected Framework reviews (focusing heavily on Cost Optimization and Operational Excellence pillars). Design automated remediation frameworks to eliminate client cloud waste proactively.
  • Design and deploy scalable, secure microservices and serverless infrastructure using advanced Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt) and GitOps principles.
  • Utilize AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), AWS Billing Conductor, and internal analytics tools to build automated alerting, cost anomaly detection, and unified reporting systems aligned with the FOCUS standard.
  • Research and prototype next-generation cloud capabilities, including AI-driven operational tools, predictive scaling models, and automated guardrail enforcement.

Preferred candidate profile

  • B.E/B.Tech/MCA, with 7+ years of hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting complex production workloads on AWS, ideally within an MSP, PLES, or highly multi-tenant environment.
  • Strong expertise in complex AWS networking (Transit Gateway, VPC Peering, PrivateLink), multi-account strategies, and secure cross-account IAM delegation also experience on AWS services like: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Serverless, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudTrail etc
  • Advanced proficiency in production-grade container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Robust, practical understanding of AWS consumption models, pricing structures (Savings Plans, RIs, Spot instances), and direct experience analyzing complex AWS Billing Constructs and Cost and Usage Reports (CUR).
  • Proven track record of managing production load failures, using centralized logging/monitoring tools (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Datadog) to isolate high-severity issues under tight timelines.
  • Exceptional articulation skills with a proven ability to shift from deeply technical deep-dives with DevOps teams to high-level strategic financial discussions with C-suite stakeholders.

Good to have

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is highly preferred. FinOps Certified Practitioner or Certified FinOps Professional is a massive plus.
  • Exposure to the FinOps Open Cost & Usage Specification (FOCUS) framework or AWS Billing Conductor.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud management and visibility tools, or custom API integrations leveraging the AWS Support API and Cost Explorer API.
