Job Description & Responsibilities

At LPL’s Global Capability Center, you'll find a collaborative culture where your voice matters, integrity guides every decision, and technology fuels progress. Your skills, talents, and ideas will redefine what's possible. LPL's success reflects its exceptional employees, who together pursue one noble purpose: empowering financial advisors to deliver personalized advice for all who need it. We’re proud to be expanding and reaching new heights in Hyderabad.

Join us as we create something extraordinary together.

We’re seeking a Senior Engineer with strong experience in API development, Angular UI engineering, and AWS cloud technologies.

This role focuses on enabling high‑quality analytics consumption by building curated datasets, high‑performing APIs, and intuitive UI integrations.

You will work with data producers, analytics teams, and engineering partners to validate data readiness, design consumption APIs, enhance UI-driven data experiences, and ensure datasets are accessible, governed, and analytics‑ready.

This role blends data engineering + API engineering + modern UI development in a senior, consumer-facing capacity.

Key Responsibilities

API Development (REST/GraphQL)

  • Build high-performing APIs for data access, metadata retrieval, dataset previews, and export workflows
  • Implement:
  • Pagination, filtering, and advanced query parameters
  • Entitlement‑aware access controls
  • Caching, throttling, and performance enhancements
  • Bulk vs. micro consumption flows
  • Create SDK-style examples, reusable integration templates, and client libraries.
  • Sr. Engineer with minimum 8+ years of extensive design and implementation of complex systems in Web, .Net stack and web services

UI Development (Angular)

  • Build or enhance Angular UI components for dataset discovery, schema preview, quality insights, and interactive data browsing
  • Integrate APIs into Angular services, modules, and components using RxJS and state management
  • Improve UX for dataset search, navigation, and metadata visibility

Cloud Engineering (AWS)

  • Hands-on work with AWS:
  • Glue (ETL, Data Catalog)
  • S3 (data lake layers)
  • Lambda (serverless orchestration & API logic)
  • API Gateway (API publishing & security)
  • IAM (RBAC, policies, entitlements)
  • Optimize ETL workflows with AWS-native patterns and best practices
  • Implement cloud architectures emphasizing reliability, scalability, and governance

Data Product Readiness & Integration

  • Validate datasets for schema clarity, SLAs, quality thresholds, and metadata completeness
  • Align datasets to medallion architecture and analytic modeling principles
  • Ensure ownership, metadata, classification tags, and quality scoring are documented
  • Produce clear dataset documentation: schema, field definitions, examples, usage notes

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as SME for API-based data consumption, data modeling, and UI-driven access patterns
  • Mentor junior engineers across data engineering, cloud, and UI fundamentals
  • Participate in design reviews, grooming sessions, and cross-team architecture discussions
  • Advocate for improvements to data access, documentation, and consumer experience

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for strong collaborators who deliver exceptional client experiences and thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments. Our ideal candidates pursue greatness, act with integrity, and are driven to help our clients succeed. We value those who embrace creativity, continuous improvement, and contribute to a culture where we win together and create and share joy in our work.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or full‑stack/API engineering roles
  • Hands-on experience designing or consuming REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Practical Angular experience (services, components, RxJS, modules)
  • AWS experience with Glue, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM
  • Ability to interpret/optimize pipelines in Spark, Glue, Python, and dbt.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Medallion architecture
  • Data modeling (star schema, semantic layers, wide tables)
  • Data lineage, metadata, and data quality practices
  • Strong SQL skills (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Iceberg table format
  • Proficiency with Git/GitHub workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Database Knowledge (Plus):
  • Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse
  • Apache Iceberg
  • PostgreSQL
  • Experience with data catalogs (Glue Catalog, DataHub, Alation, Collibra)
  • Understanding of OAuth/OIDC, token-based authentication, API gateway patterns
  • Experience with consumer analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot)
  • Understanding of governance, classification, and metadata frameworks
  • Proven impact improving data discoverability, access patterns, or consumer experience
