Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Backend Developer with 6+ years of software development experience, including strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and the MERN stack. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working in a product-based company, where they have designed, developed, and maintained scalable, high-performance backend systems. You will be responsible for building robust APIs, designing scalable architectures, optimizing databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for web and mobile applications.
• Design and optimize MongoDB database schemas, queries, indexes, and data models.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration with React.js applications.
• Develop secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT, OAuth, or similar technologies.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with Product Managers, QA Engineers, UI/UX Designers, and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and debugging strategies to maintain application health.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection best practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js and Express.js.
• Strong expertise in MongoDB, including aggregation pipelines, indexing, and query optimization.
• Good understanding of React.js and frontend-backend integration.
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Redis, caching strategies, and message queues is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of application security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Mandatory Requirements

• 6+ years of overall software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Node.js with a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on development experience.
• Prior experience working in a product-based company is mandatory.
• Proven experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks and backend testing.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK Stack.
