About the Role

Algofficient is looking for a Node.js / JavaScript Developer to design, build, and maintain the backend services and APIs that power our products. You'll work closely with product, design, and engineering to ship features that are reliable, fast, and easy to maintain.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain server-side applications and REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js (Express, NestJS, or similar)
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented JavaScript/TypeScript code
• Design and optimize database schemas and queries (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Integrate with third-party services, message queues, and cloud platforms
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, bugs, and production incidents
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning
• Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver features end to end

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience with JavaScript and Node.js
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming (Promises, async/await, the event loop)
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Proficiency with Git, automated testing (Jest, Mocha, or similar), and CI/CD practices
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience with TypeScript
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and with Docker/Kubernetes
• Exposure to frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Understanding of microservices or event-driven architecture
