Software Developer with 3-6 yr experience on Elixir& Pheonix framework

## About the Role

AMPS is looking for a Software Developer with deep experience in Elixir and the Phoenix framework to join our engineering team. You'll design, build, and scale backend services and APIs that power our core products, working closely with product, QA, and platform teams to ship reliable, high-performance software. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving hard concurrency and scalability problems and mentoring other engineers along the way.

## What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Architect scalable, fault-tolerant systems leveraging the BEAM/OTP concurrency model (GenServers, Supervisors, distributed processes).
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and drive best practices around testing (ExUnit), code review, and CI/CD.
• Optimize application performance, including database queries (Ecto), caching strategies, and system throughput.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; conduct code reviews and share Elixir/OTP best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including on-call rotation participation.
• Contribute to technical documentation and internal engineering standards.

## What We're Looking For

• 3-6 years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years working in Elixir and Phoenix in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of OTP principles (GenServer, Supervisor, Application, ETS) and the actor model.
• Experience with Ecto and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including query optimization and schema design.
• Solid grasp of building and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL or Phoenix Channels/LiveView is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (ExUnit), CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong debugging and performance-tuning skills in high-concurrency environments.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating in cross-functional, agile teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

## Nice to Have

• Experience with Phoenix LiveView for real-time UI features.
• Familiarity with Node.js and React.js is a plus.
• Familiarity with other functional languages (Erlang, Haskell, Scala) or prior Erlang/OTP experience.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical initiatives.
• - Contributions to open-source Elixir/Phoenix projects.
