Working Hours: 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM IST

About Action Tour Guide

  • Action Tour Guide is a travel technology company offering self-guided audio tours for iconic road trips, national parks, cities, and historic destinations across the United States and international markets.
  • We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior SEO Manager to lead the organic growth strategy for our e-commerce website.
  • This role is not limited to keyword research, audits, reporting, or recommendations. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, diagnosing technical and content-related problems, coordinating implementation with developers and content teams, validating fixes, and delivering measurable improvements in organic traffic, conversions, and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:-

Organic Growth Strategy

  • Develop and execute the organic search strategy for Action Tour Guide’s e-commerce website.
  • Increase qualified non-branded traffic, transactions, and organic revenue.
  • Identify growth opportunities across tour pages, destination pages, category pages, comparison pages, itinerary pages, and travel-planning content.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, content-gap analysis, SERP analysis, and organic market-share reviews.
  • Build quarterly SEO roadmaps based on commercial impact and business priorities.
  • Improve visibility across Google Search, Google Images, Discover, AI Overviews, AI Mode, Bing, and other AI-assisted search platforms.

Google Core Updates Readiness

  • Ensure the website addresses the requirements and quality signals associated with the latest Google Core Updates, Spam Updates, and Search Essentials.
  • Monitor traffic and ranking changes during and after major Google algorithm updates.
  • Diagnose whether performance declines are related to content quality, technical SEO, website architecture, authority, user experience, indexing, or competitor improvements.
  • Create and execute recovery plans for pages or sections affected by algorithm updates.
  • Ensure that website content is helpful, original, accurate, experience-led, and written primarily for travelers.
  • Identify and improve or remove thin, outdated, repetitive, templated, or low-value content.
  • Ensure that AI-assisted content is independently reviewed, fact-checked, and enhanced with genuine travel expertise and original value.

Technical SEO

  • Conduct regular technical SEO audits and convert findings into prioritized development tasks.
  • Work directly with the website and engineering teams to ensure that technical issues are resolved correctly and on time.
  • Validate all technical fixes before they are marked as complete.

  • Review website releases, redesigns, migrations, URL changes, and new features before and after launch.
  • Ensure that SEO requirements are considered during development rather than added after launch.

E-Commerce SEO

  • Improve organic visibility and conversions for tour, destination, category, bundle, and comparison pages.
  • Optimize titles, meta descriptions, headings, product descriptions, inclusions, pricing information, FAQs, images, reviews, and calls to action.
  • Ensure that important commercial pages satisfy both search intent and purchase intent.
  • Identify and resolve keyword cannibalization, overlapping page intent, duplicate product content, and weak category structures.
  • Improve internal links between travel-planning content and relevant tour products.

  • Work with the product and website teams to improve organic conversion rates without compromising content quality or usability.

  • Guide writers and editors in creating original and experience-led travel content.
  • Strengthen Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust across the website.

  • Establish content standards for tour pages, destination guides, itineraries, comparison pages, FAQs, and travel-planning resources.
  • Conduct content audits to determine which pages should be improved, consolidated, redirected, repositioned, or removed.
  • Build a structured content-refresh program based on performance, accuracy, seasonality, and traveler requirements.
  • Prevent keyword stuffing, superficial rewrites, copied content, and content created only to increase the number of indexed pages.

Website Performance and User Experience

  • Work with engineering to improve Core Web Vitals and overall website performance.
  • Identify issues affecting:

  • Ensure that important SEO content is available in crawlable HTML.

  • Balance search performance, design, content quality, usability, and conversion requirements.

Reporting & Accountability

  • Prepare weekly and monthly SEO performance reports for management.
  • Track performance using Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush or Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, PageSpeed Insights, Looker Studio, and other relevant tools.

  • Maintain an SEO issue tracker with clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and validation criteria.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on SEO experience.
  • Experience managing SEO for e-commerce, travel, marketplace, publishing, or other large content-driven websites.
  • Demonstrated success in increasing non-branded organic traffic, conversions, and revenue.
  • Experience diagnosing or recovering websites affected by Google Core Updates or Spam Updates.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, crawling, rendering, indexing, canonicalization, redirects, internal linking, structured data, and website architecture.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce SEO and commercial search intent.
  • Experience working directly with developers and validating technical implementations.
  • Ability to review HTML, HTTP responses, JavaScript-rendered content, structured data, and server-side versus client-side rendering.
