Every application is built from reusable foundations and operated through, our customer-facing control plane for workflows, models, data, evals, observability, costs, approvals, and continuous improvement.

The Role

We are looking for a senior software engineer who can take ownership of an AI application from scratch.You will work directly with product, design, AI engineering, forward-deployed teams, and the founder to translate a complex real-world workflow into a secure, observable, evaluated production application.

This is not a role where you only build isolated APIs or tune prompts. You will own the whole system:

Understand the workflow

What you will own

• Build end-to-end AI applications across and new enterprise deployments.
• Convert ambiguous customer and product requirements into clear system designs, milestones, APIs, data contracts, and production releases.
• Build production-grade Python services using typed schemas, clean abstractions, tests, observability, and failure handling.
• Design agent workflows involving models, tools, APIs, knowledge sources, memory, business rules, approvals, and human escalation.
• Build reliable structured-output pipelines rather than accepting unvalidated model responses.
• Integrate enterprise systems such as CRMs, databases, document repositories, messaging channels, media services, and internal APIs.
• Design asynchronous and long-running workflows with queues, retries, idempotency, checkpointing, and recovery.
• Build evals, deterministic verifiers, regression suites, trace replay, and quality dashboards for AI behavior.
• Own production reliability, debugging, cost, latency, security, and post-launch improvements.
• Turn customer-specific work into reusable Nexus components, tools, connectors, playbooks, and blueprints.
• Expose safe customer controls through Zing rather than creating one-off internal configuration.
• Review code and designs, mentor younger engineers, and improve Zangoh’s engineering standards.
• Use AI coding agents productively while remaining fully accountable for architecture, correctness, security, and maintainability.

What we are looking for

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science
• At least two years of full-time software-engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Python.
• Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, networking, and software design.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, data models, and distributed or asynchronous workflows.
• Ability to independently take a project from requirements to deployment.
• Strong understanding of testing, debugging, code review, version control, and CI/CD.
• Comfort with SQL and relational data modelling.
• Evidence of having owned a meaningful production feature, service, or application.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• High ownership: you identify gaps, make decisions, communicate trade-offs, and close the loop.

Strongly preferred

• FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, asyncio, or equivalent Python frameworks.
• PostgreSQL, pgvector, Redis, Celery, object storage, and event-driven systems.
• Experience building LLM or agentic applications involving structured outputs, RAG, tool use, model routing, memory, guardrails, and evals.
• Docker, Linux, cloud deployment, Kubernetes/OpenShift, or private/on-prem deployment.
• Experience with observability, traces, metrics, alerts, session replay, or production incident response.
• Experience integrating third-party and enterprise APIs with authentication, retries, permissions, and schema validation.
• Exposure to document AI, OCR, speech, image, audio, video, or multilingual systems.
• Client-facing or forward-deployed engineering experience.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small project.
