About the Project

You will be the frontend engineering lead on a multi-tenant ERP platform being built for a US-

based manufacturing group. The system covers 11 functional modules spanning job

management, purchasing, inventory, warranty, time tracking, engineering releases, and cross-

company reporting. The platform is being migrated from a Java/Thymeleaf monolith to a modern

React frontend backed by a Rails API.

The UI must be modern, responsive, and consistent across modules. This is enterprise software

that needs to look and behave like a product, not an internal tool. You will own the entire

frontend architecture, component library, build pipeline, and deployment.

• Vite for build tooling
• TypeScript (strict mode)
• React Router for client-side routing
• React Query / TanStack Query for server state management
• Docker for local development alongside the Rails API
• GitHub Actions for CI/CD
• Backend: Ruby on Rails 7.2 API (you should be able to read and debug it)

What You Will Do

Core Frontend Engineering

• Build the complete React frontend for 11 ERP modules: Identity & Access, Customer

Management, Job Lifecycle, Configurator (Items & Assemblies), Release Management,

Purchasing & Inventory, Warranty, Time Tracking, Holds Framework, Reporting &

Analytics, and Engineering Change / Non-Conformance

• Implement role-based UI rendering: screen-level, section-level, and field-level visibility

driven by server-side authorization responses

• Build complex data grids, multi-level tree views (assembly BOMs), drag-and-drop

interfaces, and configurable dashboards

• Implement status-driven workflow UIs with state transitions, approval routing, and hold

indicators

• Build a configurable report builder with filters, groupings, calculated fields, and export to

Excel/CSV/PDF

• Design and maintain a shared component library using shadcn/ui + Tailwind ensuring

visual consistency across all modules

• Build the mobile-responsive time tracking interface (PWA or React Native if needed)
• Implement real-time notifications, alert banners, and automated report delivery UIs

Frontend DevOps & Build Infrastructure

• Own the frontend build pipeline: Vite configuration, code splitting, tree shaking, bundle

analysis

• Set up and maintain CI/CD for the frontend (GitHub Actions): automated testing, linting,

type checking, build verification, and deployment

• Configure and optimize Docker environments for frontend development alongside the

Rails API

• Implement automated visual regression testing and cross-browser validation
• Manage CDN configuration, caching strategies, and performance optimization
• Set up frontend monitoring and error tracking (Sentry or equivalent)
• Maintain development tooling: ESLint, Prettier, Husky pre-commit hooks, TypeScript

strict configuration

Backend Collaboration & Quick-Turn Support

• Read and debug Ruby on Rails API code to unblock frontend integration issues
• Write API integration tests covering frontend-backend contract validation
• Contribute backend fixes or small features when needed to maintain delivery velocity
• Participate in API design discussions, ensuring endpoint shapes serve frontend

consumption patterns efficiently

Requirements

Must Have

• 4+ years of production React.js experience (React 16.8+ with hooks, React 18 preferred)
• Strong TypeScript skills in a React codebase (strict mode, generics, type guards)
• Deep experience with Tailwind CSS: utility-first patterns, responsive design, custom

configurations

• Experience building complex data-heavy UIs: tables with sorting/filtering/pagination, tree

structures, form builders

• Frontend build tooling proficiency: Vite or Webpack, code splitting, lazy loading, bundle

optimization

• CI/CD experience for frontend projects (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or equivalent)
• Docker familiarity: running multi-service development environments
• Automated testing: React Testing Library, Jest, Playwright or Cypress for E2E
• Git proficiency: branching strategies, code review workflows, PR-based development
• Understanding of REST API consumption, authentication flows (OAuth 2.0/JWT), and

state management patterns

Strong Preference

• Experience with shadcn/ui or Radix UI component systems
• Role-based UI rendering and permission-driven component visibility
• Complex form management (React Hook Form, Zod validation)
• Report builder or dashboard builder UIs in enterprise applications
• Ruby on Rails or any server-side framework experience (enough to read, debug, and

contribute small fixes)

• Multi-tenant application UI patterns (tenant switching, scoped data display)

Nice to Have

• React Native or PWA experience for mobile time tracking interfaces
• ERP or manufacturing domain exposure
• Accessibility (WCAG) compliance experience
• Performance profiling and optimization for large datasets (virtualized lists, memoization

strategies)

• Familiarity with Keycloak or similar identity providers on the frontend integration side

Work Arrangement

Initial work will be based at the Aikaara Technologies office in Pune, collaborating with the core

delivery team. As the project matures, you will transition to a dedicated on-site role at the

client’s US office. International travel willingness is required.
