Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through manual and automated testing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify issues early, improve product quality, and contribute to delivering exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical design documents.
• Create, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
• Perform manual and automated testing for web applications and software products.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects until resolution.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, smoke, and UI testing.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Assist in improving QA processes, testing methodologies, and automation coverage.
• Execute regression testing before product releases.
• Validate bug fixes and ensure software meets defined quality standards.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and provide regular testing status updates.
• Stay updated with emerging testing tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with manual testing and exposure to test automation tools.
• Knowledge of testing techniques including Functional, Regression, Integration, UI, and API Testing.
• Basic to intermediate experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium or similar.
• Working knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Familiarity with Java and basic scripting concepts.
• Exposure to HTML5, XML, and database concepts (DB2 knowledge is an added advantage).
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman.
• Basic understanding of performance or security testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git is an advantage.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
