Senior Frontend Developer (React)

Unico Connect is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer (React) to lead frontend architecture and design-system implementation across enterprise client engagements. The role owns performance engineering, accessibility, type-safety, and the mentorship that scales the frontend practice. The position is well suited to senior frontend engineers with deep React 18+ and Next.js App Router production experience and a track record of building design systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect Next.js applications including App Router, server components, and edge rendering
• Own design-system implementation in React with Tailwind or CSS-in-JS
• Drive performance including Core Web Vitals, bundle size, code splitting, lazy loading, and edge caching
• Implement accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) and SEO best practices
• Mentor 2-3 junior frontend engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and 1:1s
• Partner with designers on design tokens and component API design
• Set frontend testing standards (Vitest, Playwright, Storybook visual regression)
• Lead production incident response for frontend systems
• Author internal frontend playbooks and onboarding documentation
• Calibrate the frontend interview bar and conduct senior interview loops
• Govern frontend security including CSP, XSS, and CSRF mitigation patterns

Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend engineering with at least 2 in a senior role
• Deep React 18+ and Next.js (App Router) production experience
• Strong TypeScript fundamentals including generics, type inference, and strict mode
• Production experience building or maintaining a design system
• Deep understanding of browser internals: rendering, layout, performance
• Hands-on with Playwright, Vitest, and visual regression tooling
• Capacity to lead design-engineering handoff with senior designers
• Excellent code review, mentorship, and written communication skills
• Track record of shipping at least 1 product at production scale
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
