Senior Financial Accountant- gems and jwellary

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting

• Maintain accurate books of accounts and General Ledger.
• Prepare Journal Vouchers, Payment Vouchers, Receipt Vouchers, and Contra Entries.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures.
• Prepare Trial Balance, Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.

Inventory & Jewellery Accounting

• Maintain accounting for Gold, Silver, Diamonds, Precious Stones, and Finished Jewellery.
• Monitor inventory valuation and stock reconciliation.
• Reconcile physical inventory with ERP records.
• Track manufacturing losses, wastage, recovery, and metal movement.
• Monitor job work, karigar accounts, and bullion transactions.
• Maintain costing records for jewellery manufacturing.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare and file GST Returns.
• Handle TDS computation, deduction, payment, and returns.
• Ensure Income Tax compliance.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
• Maintain compliance with Companies Act and applicable accounting standards.

Banking & Treasury

• Bank reconciliation.
• Manage LC/BG documentation where applicable.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Coordinate with banks for finance and documentation.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly MIS.
• Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Margin Analysis.
• Budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Prepare management reports for decision-making.

Import & Export Accounting

• Handle import documentation and accounting entries.
• Account for customs duty and freight expenses.
• Reconcile export sales and foreign currency transactions.
• Coordinate with CHA and logistics teams.

Internal Controls

• Strengthen financial controls.
• Ensure proper documentation.
• Improve accounting processes and ERP utilization.
• Support finance automation initiatives.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards.
• Expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
• Jewellery inventory accounting.
• Gold & Diamond costing.
• ERP/Tally proficiency.
• Advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• High attention to detail and integrity.

Experience

5–8 years (Minimum 3 years of experience in the Gems & Jewellery / Diamond / Gold Jewellery industry)

Qualification

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter (CA preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP (Gati, Busy, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
• Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Power Query)
