Senior Data Scientist – AI / ML (Telecom Domain Preferred)

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist who can own enterprise AI engagements end-to-end - from problem framing and data understanding through model development, deployment and continuous optimization. This role requires strong technical depth in AI/ML and data science, combined with the ability to engage directly with clients and guide teams to deliver production-grade AI solutions. Prior experience or strong working knowledge of Telecom technology and data environments is a significant advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Translate complex business requirements into well-scoped, testable AI/ML problem statements
• Lead exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and data quality assessment across structured and unstructured data
• Design and deliver predictive, prescriptive and generative AI solutions aligned to business outcomes
• Select modelling approaches considering interpretability, stability and operational constraints
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure consistency between training and inference pipelines
• Ensure AI solutions are production-ready, explainable and scalable
• Support client workshops, discovery sessions and solution walkthroughs
• Provide technical guidance and design oversight to data scientists and ML engineers

Requirements

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

• Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning and applied data science
• Experience with supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised and ensemble learning techniques
• Hands-on expertise in time-series modeling, forecasting and sequence-based data
• Experience with generative AI and LLM-based systems, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Understanding of evaluation strategies, bias–variance trade-offs, feature leakage and model generalization
• Familiarity with model lifecycle management, data drift and concept drift

TOOLS & PLATFORMS

• Python and the modern data science ecosystem
• ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn
• LLM and generative AI frameworks and orchestration tools
• Cloud platforms and modern data platforms
• Open Source and Propriety tooling
• Ability to evaluate and recommend tools and architectures based on enterprise context

DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE (PREFERRED)

• Experience or strong familiarity with Telecom technology and data domains
• Exposure to BSS/OSS systems, roaming technology, charging, billing, customer analytics or network performance data
• Ability to incorporate domain constraints into AI solution design and evaluation

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of experience in Data Science, AI/ML or advanced analytics roles
• Proven delivery of real-world, production-grade AI solutions
• Comfortable operating in client-facing, consultative environments
• Strong communication skills and system-level thinking
