Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Chennai)

We are hiring a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (7 - 10 years of hands-on experience) to own and evolve our Azure-based CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, Azure cloud infrastructure, and Microsoft 365 platform support that powers internal tools and client-facing digital services. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure high availability and smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Role & responsibilities

• Design and evolve Azure Landing Zones, subscription architecture, management groups, governance controls, RBAC, Azure Policy, and security baselines.
• Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules and platform components using Terraform and Bicep.
• Develop and operate shared Azure platform services including networking, identity, secrets management, storage, and observability.
• Establish platform standards, golden paths, and self-service capabilities that enable engineering teams to deploy and operate applications efficiently.
• Drive cloud reliability, scalability, disaster recovery, performance optimization, and cost management initiatives across Azure environments.

Kubernetes & Cloud Infrastructure

• Design, deploy, and operate production-grade Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platforms.
• Manage and support Azure cloud services including AKS, App Services, Functions, Key Vault, Storage, SQL, Cosmos DB, Virtual Machines, and Networking.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to containerize applications and modernize legacy workloads on Azure.
• Implement platform security best practices including network segmentation, identity management, secrets handling, and compliance controls.

Observability & Reliability

• Design and maintain platform observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Managed Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized alerting.
• Establish operational excellence practices, incident response procedures, platform monitoring standards, and service reliability metrics.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and provide L3 support for critical Azure infrastructure and platform services.

DevOps Enablement

• Support and maintain platform CI/CD capabilities using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Azure Pipelines.
• Enable standardized deployment workflows, GitOps practices, release automation, blue-green deployments, and rollback strategies.
• Partner with development teams to improve developer experience, deployment reliability, and platform adoption.

Required Qualifications

• 7- 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, Azure Cloud , DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services including networking, identity, security, IaaS, and PaaS offerings.
• Experience designing and operating Azure Landing Zones and enterprise-scale cloud governance frameworks.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Hands-on experience designing, operating, and upgrading production AKS clusters.
• Experience implementing GitOps workflows and cloud platform automation.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, disaster recovery, and high-availability architectures.
• Experience with Azure networking concepts including VNets, Private Endpoints, DNS, Load Balancers, and network security controls.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and modern CI/CD platforms.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or equivalent.
• Experience with Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Internal Developer Platforms (IDP).
• Experience designing self-service cloud platforms and developer enablement solutions.
